Kayak Fishing at Hanna Park
Destination: Atlantic Ocean, St. John's South Jetty, and Hanna Lake.

Directions: Kathryn Abby Hanna Park (COJ) is located off Mayport Road just south of the Mayport Naval Station. Continue north on Mayport Road past where A1A goes towards the ferry and the park entrance is on the right. It costs $1 to enter the park.

Description: Hanna Park has about 1.5 miles of sandy beaches and is the closest beach launch from the south jetty of the St. John's River. It also has a 60 acre fresh water lake that is full of sish including channel catfish, bream, crappie, and bass.

Difficulty: Easy in the lake, Moderate to Difficult in the Ocean.

Closest Bait&Tackle Shop: B&M Bait&Tackle.

Launches: There is 1 launch on the southeast corner of the lake L1, although you can launch almost anywhere around the lake. There are multiple lots that are available for an ocean launch. BEWARE launching at The Poles, as this is one of the premier surfing spots in east FLorida and there are huge waves there. More than one yakker has lost a lot of gear trying to launch close to the south jetties. If you are interested in fishing the jetties it may be wiser to put in up north at Huegenot Park.
