Destination: Guana Dam, Guana Lake north of the dam and Guana River south of the dam.
Directions: Guana Dam is located off A1A south of Ponte Vedra and north of Villano Beach.
Description: Guana Dam separates the Guana Lake to the north from the Guana River to the south. Guana River flows south and ultimately flows into the ICW. The dam is known as a prolific fishing area for reds, black drum, trout, and flounder. Just north of the dam in the lake is known for doormat flounder. South of the dam you will find all varietyies of fish, with plenty of grass, flats, and oyster beds. The river is not known to be full of gators like the lake north of the dam.
Difficulty: Easy. Beware of lines from shore-bound fisherman near the dam.

Launches: The dam has ample room to park and launch to the north into the lake or south into the river. There is a $3 fee (usually), plenty of water, facilities, and secure parking.
